Depending on who you ask, Convergence was either a blessing or a curse. Over a century ago, the fey--the Celtic and Teutonic races of Faerie--had a little war that got out of hand and somehow caused the event known as Convergence. When Faerie and modern reality converged, the old world order in both places disappeared, and both humans and fey have struggled to live together ever since.

Stories set in the Convergent World include mysteries involving Connor Grey in Boston and thrillers featuring Laura Blackstone in Washington, D.C.

Connor Grey, a down-on-his-luck druid who has lost his abilities, struggles to make a place for himself in the Boston neighborhood known as the Weird. Consulting on murder cases involving magic, he ekes out a living with the occasional consulting fee from the Boston P.D. and disability check from the Guild, his former employer. As he comes to terms of who is and the man he wants to be, Connor finds himself drawn into the web of intrigue that surrounds the Seelie Court and its adversaries ruled by the Elvenking. Sometimes, being the good guy isn't all its cracked up to be.

By day, Laura Blackstone leads the public relations department for the Washington D.C. Fey Guild. What few know, though, is her second job as an operative for InterSec, the fey intelligence agency charged with protecting the interests of the Seelie Court. Being an undercover agent has its occupational hazards, but Laura makes it look easy, using her abilities to create magical disguises that are skin deep--glamours,or personas, that must never be compromised.

Mark Del Franco's first novel UNSHAPELY THINGS was published in 2007 by Ace Books. That title began the urban fantasy series featuring Connor Grey and continues in UNQUIET DREAMS (2008) and UNFALLEN DEAD (2009). In July 2009, a new series featuring Guild agent Laura Blackstone will begin with SKIN DEEP.
